We’d like to welcome Loren Wood to the CNF Team. To help you get to know him, Loren answered a few questions to share with the CNF community.
What’s your role at CNF?
I am Senior Director, Marketing & Communications at Child Neurology Foundation.
What are you passionate about?
I am all about social impact. To me, it’s imperative to look at the work we do each and every day and ensure it results in a meaningful difference for the people we support. At CNF, that means looking to the children living with a neurologic disorder, and their families, and helping ensure they get the best quality of care possible.
Which CNF Value do you identify with the most? (Integrity, Stewardship, Collaboration, Professionalism)
It’s a tough call, but I think collaboration resonates most with me. I firmly believe that you can’t tackle the complex social problems we face as a society without working collaboratively with others. No one person can do it alone.
How do you spend your time when you’re not at work?
When not at work, you can find me outdoors, probably biking, camping or hiking somewhere around the bluegrass state. I also host a philanthropic dining club once a month where we eat good food and donate proceeds to a charity of choice here in Lexington, KY.
What drew you to working with CNF?
The work CNF undertakes touches the core of what I believe in when it comes to collaboration and making a true impact on people’s lives. I was drawn to the work CNF was doing to convene neurologic experts from around the US and the industry to drive better quality of care for children and their families. Having also lost a loved one to complications from MS, I jumped at the opportunity to be able to leverage my skills to help.
