CNF’s Family Support & Empowerment Program (FSEP) offers families a direct connection to our Peer Support Specialists, who themselves are parents of children with neurologic conditions. They offer unique emotional support and listen without judgment, as only someone who has walked a similar journey can do.
In addition to receiving requests for support from nearly every US state, we’ve been contacted by families and physicians from 45 countries! Recently, we were able to connect a family from halfway across the world to a local hospital! We thank the International Committee at the Child Neurology Society for their help in making these connections.
We also thank the American Academy of Neurology, who now refer applicable family support requests that they receive to FSEP. Parents and physicians working in a shared network to better connect and support families in our communities is quite exciting!
